HIP-HOP
During the 90's the hip-hop fashion became popular as rappers such as Will Smith took the stage. Late 80's going into the early 90's, this style consisted of wearing loud vibrant colors with various shapes and patterns, with baggy pants, a pair of Jordans or Chuck Taylor shoes, a high top fade known to some as an eraser head, and last but not least an aspect that seem not to fade away from the hip-hop fashion, a gold chain. in the later 90's rap groups like N.W.A. and run D.M.C. around the hip hop style seem to shift in certain areas of the world, some groups would wear leather jackets with kangol or bucket caps with track pants, other areas would wear jerseys and hats with their favorite along with a pair of jeans, and some areas would wear wears tank tops with bandanas.
Grunge
During the 90's, rock bands had control over what people wore do to the influence of bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam is what most people listen to. During the 90's the grunge fashion took mainly colors that were dark and black, ripped jeans, flannel shirts denim jackets, leather jackets, acid washed denim, and and leather add on of any type. Most people saw this look more intimidating than other fashions considering most fashion reflect the music, just as rock around this time was loud and destructive, people who dressed accordingly were associated as being loud and destructive, same goes for the hip-hop style, most musicans would say crazy
preppy
The preppy style of fashion seemed to be the only fashion not influenced by music but rather influenced by traditional family values and the more middle class type of family who wore their hair in more reasonable clothes that you would see average people wear out in public such as collared shirts,khaki slacks and boat shoes.
